Finding HOPE

This week's theme is finding inspiration and hope. Today I saw a quote from Christopher Reeve that fit the bill perfectly. We live in a busy world and often we find ourselves feeling completely overwhelmed. Sometimes, that leads to neglecting time for ourselves, doing something kind to our heart and soul. We need to learn to set aside quiet moments of self reflection so that we can grow as a person, from the inside out.

It doesn't matter how you do it, whether it's going for a walk, meditation, doing something you love like reading, art, writing or photography. As long as you enjoy it, that's what counts. Surrounding yourself with positive energy is like a wonderful hug for the soul, something that we could all use more often.

Little moments can make a big difference. Even if it's simply putting a flower in a glass and putting it on your desk, you're creating that pause to admire it. Finding that self comfort is important, regardless of what it is. Since I live in a small community and live on limited funds,  having a bite of dark chocolate, a sip of sparkling wine, or a cup of cappuccino is a sweet treasure. There's nothing wrong with that. In fact, it makes even more special.

I saw an amazing episode on Glee recently that portrayed being open to possibilities. There was this moment when everyone's perception changed and they really opened their eyes. When the Haverbrook School for the Deaf made an appearance and started signing the song "Imagine", it inspired the New Directions to get up and join them. It had such a profound impact on them. They learned to use sign language with them, wearing big smiles as they sang together.
